While the specific designer remains unidentified, BBB Bonacina Collaborated with many renowned designers such as Alberto Rosselli, Achille Castiglioni and Design Group DDL (De Pas, D’Urbino, and Lomazzi) who worked with Bonacina through the early '60s and '70s making it plausible that this piece is attributed to one of these designers.
This design Is reminiscent of B&B Italia's iconic 'Coronado' armchair produced in 1966, which utilized iron in its frame—a revolutionary material choice for the era. This armchair also features a similar frame construction, upholstered in nearly pristine leather, showcasing its enduring quality. The piece is in excellent condition, a testament to the exceptional Italian craftsmanship of its time.
We suspect this sofa could be from one these designers or a bespoke piece by Bonacina made sometime in the 1960s or 1970s which could explain the rarity of this item.
