"POET" Armchair for Ikea
Designed in 1972 by Gillis Lundgren (Sweden), the 4th employee hired by Ikea in 1953, the Poet armchair is a testament to Lundgren’s innovative approach. Over his career, he designed more than 100 products for Ikea, including some of the brand’s most iconic and successful pieces. Known as the "Father of Flatpacks," Lundgren sparked the flat-pack, self-assembly concept that transformed Ikea into the global leader it is today.
The Poet armchair features an upholstered wooden frame with a foldable built-in single bed, utilizing Welltex-linked zigzag springs that also serve as chair support.
